Read before buying dry fruit this fall of 2015.


Diwali is next month. In a fortnight Diwali hoopla will start. It is the worst time to buy dry fruits.

Walnuts did not fare any better:


Black and fungus ridden. 

Pistachio fared slightly better without fungus but of poor quality:
Kernel is small. Perhaps due to shrinking. Some nuts were dried and inedible. 

Before Diwali, quality is shabby as last season's stock is pushed out. Buy after Diwali and with open eyes. 

BTW I had bought from BigBasket.com which promptly made full refund and assured to strengthen their quality control.
